Smt.Dr.Subashree Narayanan - Nattuvangam

The Guru Smt.Dr.Subashree Narayanan is an ‘Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition’ & mother of two. Subashree has won many Laurels & Accolades in Nritta & Abhinaya. Seeing her potential in Abhinayam, her Dance Gurus Shri. GV Ramani & Smt. Ranganayaki Ramani referred her to Padmabhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan (Virtuoso of Abhinayam) to study the art form further. Subashree has given several performances both in India & US. She has also conducted her Arangetrams, in India, and in the US. She is currently enhancing her domain in Bharathnatyam under the tutelage of Guru. B. Bhanumati, Bengaluru & Smt Sheela Chandrashekar, Bengaluru.
In conjunction with her dance career, Subashree’s parents enrolled her in Carnatic music under Sangeetha Vidhwan Shri. A.S. Panchapakesha Iyer (Author of Gaanamrutha Bodhini – Foundation of Carnatic Music). She went on to complete her Diploma in Carnatic music at the young age of 14. Later, she went on for advanced Vocal Training under the guidance of Guru Smt. T.R. Balamani (Also guru of Shankar Mahadevan, Bombay Jayashree, her batchmates).
Subashree is a core member of ‘Rasajhari’, which has conducted a variety of dance recitals over the years and continues to promote the artforms. Now after a hard and long journey from being a student to a teacher today, Subashree has successfully opened a school under the name “KalarAdhana – School of Arts”.

Dr Priyashri Rao - Vocalist

Dr Priyashri Rao is a Bharatanatyam danseuse, Carnatic vocalist and a research scholar. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Performing Arts – Music and Dance, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Bangalore. She served earlier as the Assistant Professor and Research Supervisor in the Research Department of Bharatanatyam and Music at TDES (Tiruchirappali Diocesan Educational Society) affiliated to Tamil University, Thanjavur. There she was also a resource person for the Bachelors and Masters programs in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music conducted by TDES. She is a recognized guide for candidates preparing their MA, MPhil & PhD dissertations. She has guided about 60 candidates in successfully submitting their masters dissertations. Two MPhil and 4 PhD candidates have also successfully submitted their dissertations under her supervision.
Priyashri has had the good fortune to interact and absorb the nuances of the twin art forms of Bharatanatyam and Karnataka Sangitam from great artists and scholars who adorned the two world famous institutions, Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai and the Department of Indian Music, University of Madras. She is an alumnus of Kalakshetra Foundation from where she obtained her PGDFA in Bharatanatyam. She also trained under the famous dancing couple late Sri M V Narasimhacari and Smt Vasanthalakshmi Narasimhacari. Priyashri went on to complete her MA securing the gold medal. Her MPhil was titled ‘An Analysis of a Bharatanatyam Composition – Relation between Music, Drumming and Dance Movements’. She was conferred her doctorate by the University of Madras for her thesis titled ‘Dance Performance and its Components – A Historical Study’ under the guidance of Dr N Ramanathan, well known musicologist. She is a recipient of the HRD Ministry scholarship for advance studies in dance and JRF for pursuing her doctoral studies. She has travelled in India and abroad as a part of Kalakshetra.

Priyashri has performed Bharatanaṭyam and Karnaṭaka Sangitam as a solo artist in a number of sabha-s both in India and abroad too.
She is a graded artist of both AIR and Doordarshan. Priyashri has also presented papers at conferences and penned articles for journals. A few papers have also been published with ISBN numbers. She as also to her credit composed a few jatisvaram-s and pushpanjali-s apart from choreographing a number of items. Priyashri has been an examiner for the Vidvat Antima exams conducted by the KSEEB for the past 8 years now. She is currently honing her vocal skills under the able guidance of Smt Mangalam Shankar.
She has rendered a few compositions under the YouTube channel named Baani – A lineage –both with her Guru and solo.

Priyashri established Kalasampurna to promulgate to the next generation of artists the knowledge and intricacies, and the beauty of these two art forms of Bharatanatyam and Karnataka Sangitam. A number of Kalasampurnaites have passed the dance and music exams conducted by KSEEB. A few budding dancers of Kalasampurna have presented their arangterm. Quite a few aspiring dancers and musicians of Kalasampurna have also presented performances both Bharatanatyam and Karnataka Sangitam under the auspices of various esteemed organizations.

Vidwan Sri.N.Narayanaswamy- Mridangam

Vidwan N Narayanaswamy is a disciple of Guru Kalaimamani Guruvayoor Dorai Narayanaswamy is an exemplary artist who has carved a niche for himself in the field of Mirdangam and heralds as the most sought – after percussionist for classical performances.

His career as a lead percussionist spans over decades and his mastery over the art form speaks for itself.He is gifted with a rare quality of dexterity and versatility, in that he easily adapts to artist of varying caliber.His virtuosity of being able to produce unparalleled melody in rhythm has left his audience spellbound.
In todays world of instant gratification, one has a lot to learn from him who invests time with each artist to do complete justice to what is expected of him. His commitment and devotion to art is noteworthy.

Narayanaswamy has toured extensively both in India and other countries such as the UK, USA, Malaysia, Sri lanka to render performances.

N R Narasimha Murthy - Flutist

N R Narasimha Murthy is an well accomplished carnatic flutist. Started at a very young age underwent training with Guru Vid,M.S Srinivasa Murthy later with Guru Vid.M.R.Doraswamy. Has gone training under vocalist Guru Vid.S.Shankar. Ably nurtured under their guidance with dedication to music soon started enthralling the audience. He is known for the melody , nuances and creativity.
He is “A” graded artist from the All India Radio and Doordarshan India.
In 1994 he was invited by the Government of wales for their “FIRST AISAN FESTIVAL”. In 1996 performed in ” LINCOLN CENTER” NewYork, USA. In 2010 ICCR tour to Srilanka .2010 October was invited to China to be part of “CULTURAL HARMONY” a program organized by UNESCO during Common Wealth Games Festival.Has done several compostions and music for Dance. He has extensively travelled globally to spread Carnatic music.

Pradesh Achar - Violinist

Pradesh Achar is a well known musician to has cultivated both Carnatic Vocal and Violin from teenage. He had keen interest in music and started violin from his uncle Mysore Gopinath. Later he became desciple of Smt Lalgudi Rajalakshmi a veteran violinist.at the same time he also started practicing vocal from Haveri Prahladachar and Dr Vidyabushana. He started stage performance at an age of 20 in both disciplines. He has performed in many prominent music festivals and places in all over india. He is also scholar of Sanskrit in the field of vedas and vedantas. He is also B High grade artist in All india radio and doordarshan.
He has given many solo and violin duet concerts with his guru.
He has also been accompanying many veteran vocalists like Padmabhushan
Dr KJ Yesudas,Dr Vidyabushana,Aruna Sairam, Malladi Brothers, Unni krishnan,RK Padmanabh, Anooru Ananthakrishna sharma etc..
He has also specialized in music directing, teaching and composing classical and light music. He is also well versed in accompanying many Dance programs and recordings. He has also released many devotional albums.

D. V. Prasanna Kumar - Rhythmpad

D, V. Prasanna kumar, Nattuvanaar and multi percussionist——student of Vid. S. V. Giridhar and Anoor ananthakrishna sharma for percussions and he has embelished his Nattuvangum skills from Vidushi late Kamalarani of Kalakshethra—He has toured all over the globe giving performances and Nattuvangum workshops and lecture demonstrations–He is been teaching the art of Nattuvangum for young aspirants under his Institute Nattuvanga prathishtaana from past 10years and has worked as a guest faculty in Bangalore university for 5years teaching the art of Nattuvangum for MA dance —–Prasanna kumar has also penned many Compositions and Dance dramas for dance, which Are widely performed by Dnacers all over the wold——he has been Honoured with Ananya Puraskara, Aryabhata international award, Kalayogi sanmaana, Gayana samaja best accompanyment for concert award to name a few. ——sarvam lalithaarpanam
